Production Operative

Salary : £9.34 – £11.85/hour
We are looking for someone with a background working as a warehouse operative, factory operative, production operative, picker or packer although you do not have to be from a warehouse background to apply.
Immediate start. Great opportunity to work as a Production Operative for one of the UK's largest fresh produce companies.
This client provides a tailor-made packing and logistics service. The site includes whole-head packhouses, temperature-controlled storage, modified atmosphere storage, ripening rooms, an automated consolidation centre, box manufacture facility, designated quality control areas, product development facilities, and main office operations.
Staffline is recruiting for a Production Operative to work in Canterbury.
The rate of pay is:
– £9.34 per hour for days
– £11.85 per hour for nights
Overtime paid at 1.25 rate.
You will be flexible and able to work any 5 days out of 7 on 12-hour shifts.
Days and night shifts are available with starting times of 6am and 6pm.
Your Time at Work
As a Production Operative at this site your duties may include:
– Loading and unloading lines
– Packing and labelling as per the client specifications
– Packing and presenting, ensuring that when placing the product into pods, trays, or preformed film, it is done in accordance with the customers' standard specifications and you follow the client specifications
– You will understand and have full knowledge of product quality as well as control and manage the product released from the technical department
This role will involve standing on your feet for the duration of your shift and some lifting will be involved at the end of the lines.
Our Perfect Worker
Our ideal Production Operative will be able to work with or without the line manager's supervision and follow the quality controls put in place by the client and they must be able to pay great attention to detail.
Previous experience in fresh produce would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.
