Right now, we are looking for a cook that loves to see our residents enjoy the food they have prepared and to join our friendly team promoting independence and dignity and positively enhancing the lives of individuals in our care.
Working hours and salary:
Full time – Flexible to cover Weekdays and Weekends between 7am-5pm.
Pay rate: £11.00 to £12.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Who we’re looking for:
Job Summary
Carry out meal preparations according the menu, whilst maintaining food hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
* To maintain the standard of health and hygiene in the kitchen.
* To prepare special diet meals for particular residents.
* To ensure a high level of service for all meal times.
* To complete all documentation relating to HACCP.
* To ensure report any defects to equipment to the Home Manager.
* To ensure good quality and portion control.
* Assist with menu planning and any revisions that may be required.
* To carry out any reasonable duties requested by senior staff that will aid and assist the smooth running of the home.
* Wanting to make a real difference, you’re interested in caring for others, sharing your sense of humour and spreading your infectious enthusiasm for making people’s lives better.
You’re someone that cares for others and wants to make a real difference to people’s lives. Ideally, you have some experience in a care environment. You understand there will be challenging days, but you’ll also laugh, have fun and make lasting memories with our residents. * Know your stuff when it comes to ensuring the kitchen is compliant with its paperwork and adhering to regulations.

* Flexible to carry out other duties by helping the team with gaps in service.
What will your typical day involve:
Getting breakfast ready for early birds and late risers, whilst prepping lunch. Lunch to be served on time as the residents know the time and are eagerly waiting at the dining table. Keeping the kitchen clean as you go along and finally prepping snacks for tea time.
