Senior Architects or Technologists seeking the next step in your career, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. An Associate or Associate Director level Architect or Technologist is now required to join a well-known multi-disciplinary practice in Birmingham city centre.

THE COMPANY:

A fantastic multi-disciplinary practice operating out of two offices in the UK, one of which in London, the other in Birmingham city centre. The company has been in operation well over 30 years, developing into a well resourced multi-disciplinary, offering services in; Architecture, Building Services, Surveying, Professional Services, Project Management, Sustainability and much more.

The Birmingham office is set in modern offices a stones throw away from Birmingham New Street station, ideal for rail commuters from outside the city. Off road parking is available nearby. There are plenty of cafes and express supermarkets within walking distance of the office, and a park nearby perfect to eat your lunch with the upcoming Summer (providing we get the weather!).

The company as a whole work in several sectors and project types, with the Birmingham office tending to focus on Education, Residential and Public Sector buildings. For this particular position, Education experience would be perfect but not necessarily essential. Given the nature of the work they do, they have had to invest heavily in implementing Revit and BIM systems throughout the office. Prior knowledge and proficiency in Revit as a minimum would be preferred for this role.

THE POSITION – ASSOCIATE OR ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR (Architect or Architectural Technologist)

The position available is for an experienced Architect or Architectural Technologist to take up this post as either an Associate or Associate Director (dependent on current level), in order to be a key member of the Architectural team within the Birmingham office. The position will see you in a team leading, project running position, along with being a pivotal client facing member of the team.

As previously mentioned, experience in the Education sector would be ideal for this position, although it isn't a major concern if you haven't worked in that field before. The most important attributes considered within this role will be leadership qualities, client facing confidence, job running capabilities and a solid background as an Architect or Technologist in a private practice or multi-disciplinary environment.

Given the hierarchy and structure of the company, the Associate will be presented with a progression path that will ultimately lead towards equity Partnership within the business, should the successful candidate wish to pursue that avenue. This is a stand out opportunity for an Associate Architect to really progress and move up to that next step.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Qualified Architect with UK recognised qualifications at Part 1, 2 and 3 level.
ARB registered / RIBA chartered
Approximately 5-10+ years of post qualification experience
Already operating in a Senior or Associate Architect level
Experience of working in the Education sector is essential, along with the added benefit of Residential experience.
Comfortable in a client facing role.
Job running capabilities.
Experience leading teams and mentoring & developing lesser experienced team members.
Contract administration experience.
Strong technical ability including producing working drawings, construction packages and architectural details.
AutoCAD proficiency is essential, Revit knowledge would be a benefit.
