Cloud Accountant

Salary : £35000 – £45000/annum
The Company
Able Bridge Recruitment are currently working with a mid-tier accountancy firm who have a footprint throughout the UK. Due to a strategic shift in their business services model, we have been exclusively invited to work with the business in the recruitment of a cloud based portfolio manager. The role will be based in one the Scottish central belt offices and will be responsible for managing and growing a team of outsourced accounts assistants/bookkeepers.
The Responsibilities
The role profile has been born out of a vision that the ways that accounting practices have operated over the past decade is likely to go through further changes over the next few years. The reliance on IT systems has increased and our client believes that cloud technology will be even more commonplace than it is today. However, there are still a number of businesses and company owners that are behind the curve. Our client`s plan is to rapidly expand by picking up those customers and offering them added value in their service offering by getting them onto cloud-based software seamlessly.
On a day to day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;
Identifying digitisation opportunities within the client base
Designing and delivering cloud software solutions to clients
Liaising with current customers who have not yet adopted an accounting cloud solution and highlighting the financial and operational benefits of doing so.
Managing a team of assistant accountants/bookkeepers, ensuring that client accounts are produced accurately and within agreed timelines.
Review client accounts ensuring the end client`s financial position is protected and that all liabilities are correctly accounted.
Supervision of the VAT tasks such as VAT registrations, de-registrations and other HMRC requirements
The Requirements
Ideally, we are seeking a professionally qualified accountant (ACCA/CA/ACA), however applicants who are qualified by experience or who are part qualified maybe considered. To be successful applicants will have to demonstrate significant cloud based competencies and will have substantial (practical), experience of working within an accountancy practice completing tasks required. Your office location will be determined by you; however you can expect to be on client sites for a large proportion of your time. As such, applicants will need to hold a UK drivers’ licence and have access to a car.
