We have an amazing opportunity to join one of the most innovative worldwide architectural practices in the sector to work with their London based ops team. The Financial Project Manager will support the project teams by tracking project pricing, staffing, budgeting and timeline, in close collaboration with Project Leaders. You will report to the Managing Director and work closely with the Finance and Operations teams to ensure that precise and timely project performance data is available for the management group to make decisions about project execution. As a Financial Project Manager you must continuously challenge the project cost picture to ensure that each project is delivered on time and on budget. Furthermore, you will also be responsible for ensuring that contracts, insurance policies and other important documents related to the projects are collected and filed correctly.

Primary areas of responsibility relating to Project Controlling:

Assisting in establishing and maintaining project budgets, staffing and schedules, while monitoring financial performance
Accurately documenting, administering, and maintaining contract information
Compiling and analysing data periodically to provide insight into the progress, issues and financial performance of projects
Performing specialized accounting functions and establishing internal controls
Managing project invoicing in accordance with contractual agreements and handling of client interfacing for payments as required
Analysing for additional services on projects
Working with Project Leaders to understand and improve project profit margins
Working with Project Leaders in project bookings, budgets, performance, forecasting and receivables
Supporting the Project Leaders in the use of our project management tools and processes
Planning and executing monthly project update meetings with relevant stakeholders, taking minutes, and reporting to the Managing Director
Ensuring access for time registration on projects for employees
Assisting the Managing Director with various tasks as requiredPrimary areas of responsibility relating to Operations:

Ensuring hours are submitted on a weekly/biweekly basis and that these are approved by the relevant Project Leader
Monthly analysis of the submitted work hours and appropriate reporting to relevant stakeholders
Conducting training to staff as required
Responsible for month end reporting to the Managing Director.We seek a person who:

Is a high-level critical thinker that can build upon established systems and elevate our internal project controlling processes
Has a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Accounting or Finance
Has 5+ years Controlling experience or a similar role preferably within the design sector
Has at minimum a basic understanding of Earned Value Management
Is highly proficient in Excel
Is fluent in English, verbal and written
Enjoys a busy and creative environment with many personalities
Is comfortable with fast-paced decisions and rapidly changing environments
Is proactive, completes tasks with a sense of urgency, and is capable of multi-tasking responsibilities
Has effective time management skills, can prioritize tasks, and follows-up in a timely manner
Is a good colleague and a team-player who wants to engage in a unique office culture
Knowledge of CMAP is a must, as this is used for their projects systems
