ROLE SUMMARY:

The Assistant Department Managers role is to support the Department Manager when executing department strategy and day to day business focus. You will guide the department to excellence in every area, not just sales, profit, and cost but also exceptional and unique customer service, team performance, displays and stock. This position will operate alongside team members throughout the trading day.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Ensure that there is daily follow up with all team members to encourage delivery of agreed commercial and service targets.
Create and build an exceptional and unique experience for established and newly acquired customers. Developing a team culture which inspires retention, loyalty and growth. Sales team right place, right time in line with sales trend.
Conduct daily follow up with Brand Consultants and Style Advisor supporting the Department Manager to embed the required skills and principles which will encourage growth of team development.
Draw themes from team 121s prioritising on the spot coaching and development daily. Feeding back to DM/SM concerning progress against an individual's objectives. 121s conducted as part of ADM development and progression.
Deputise in absence of Department Manager engaging with key stakeholders when the opportunities arise.
Develop and maintain brand knowledge through training's and communication with external partners to maximise sales for your department.
Handle customer complaints and escalations as primary contact. Ensuring they are managed and resolved to meet suitable customer resolution and protect the brand.
Provide daily feedback for SM/DM allowing for accurate commercial information for buying and merchandising teams. Capturing data about missed opportunities directly from customer and team members.
Manage your team to minimise stock loss through delivering operational best practices including daily stock audits and checks while liaising with relevant HOH support teams.
Ensure that all staff understand and adhere to all PPPs to meet expectations.
Execute initiatives to prevent hazards or non-compliance that do not meet statutory requirements of company H&S standards. Coach staff about procedures which minimise the risk of injury, illness, and damage.

EXPERIENCE:

Previous retail experience
Previous team management experience
Able to demonstrate evidence of having achieved personal sales and KPI targets and helped managed a team to deliver sales and KPI's
Ability to analyse and understand numerical data
Excellent IT skills
