Web Graphic Designer – Maternity Cover (hybrid)

Are you a Graphic Designer with experience working with website graphics, emails, and UI/UX looking for a temporary opportunity in Eastbourne?
We are looking for a full-time Web Graphics Designer for a temporary role to cover maternity leave. The role will involve a mixture of banner and email design, alongside UX/UI project work for new and existing projects.
We are currently recruiting for a Web Graphic Designer to join our busy marketing department for maternity cover. This is a fantastic opportunity to express your creativity and see you work across a variety of different platforms within not only our business, but our wider trade.
The position will involve a range of different design-based roles, across both print and digital. Some of what you will work on will be: digital adverts highlighting Gardners services and promotions, consumer email design, website and app UX/UI, and other ad-hoc tasks and projects that may arise to support the wider department and business.
You will have an impeccable eye for detail, strong layout skills, and experience of optimising and applying existing brand guidelines.
Our primary tools are Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and XD, so a good working knowledge of these programs is needed.
This is a full-time temporary position, covering maternity leave. The hours of work are Mon-Fri, 9am-5.30pm. This role is home working, with an occasional requirement to work from our Eastbourne office.

Essential Skills
A strong eye for visual composition
Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with team members and other departments
Proven work experience as a graphic designer
Hands on working experience with image design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite)
Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colours, fonts, and layouts
High-level of understanding of UI/UX principles
Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
Desirable Skills
Excellent communication skills
Effective time management skills, ability to prioritise tasks, and ensure deadlines are met and standards maintained
Excellent ability to work on long term projects effectively and with minimal supervision
Ability to offer effective and constructive feedback
Ability to work on your own, or as part of a team
Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
