Our client has an exciting role for someone to join their catering service on a part time, permanent basis. You’ll work as a team to produce healthy, balanced meals for village residents, guests and staff while maintaining high standard of hygiene, health and safety and customer service.
Job requirements
· Provide nutritional, fresh, balanced food to a high standard making sure to consider any dietary requirements.
· Make sure all food is presented and served correctly.
· Help to produce new food dishes and contribute menu ideas.
· Work as a team to cook, present, serve and deliver food to all staff and visitors.
· Promote any offers, specials, or meal deals.
· Comply with all kitchen rules and standards.
· Monitor all fridges and freezers making sure they display the correct temperature.
· Keep waste to a minimum and record it when required.
· Keep kitchen equipment and utensils clean, making sure they meet the highest possible hygiene regulations.
· Report faults or damaged equipment and appliances as soon as possible to make sure no one uses them until they are repaired or replaced.
· Record any crockery breakage and dispose of them properly.
· Always keep staff and customers safe while on duty by following health, safety and hygiene regulations.
· Keep money on the premises safe and secure.
What they’re looking for
· Someone with an NVQ or equivalent qualification in food hygiene safety.
· Experience of working in a catering or hospitality environment and cooking with fresh ingredients.
· Knowledge of industry best practices.
· Knowledge and understanding of allergy regulations including Natasha’s law.
· Someone who can work using their own initiative.
· Someone who is friendly, approachable and can work well as part of a team or independently.
· Someone who can work flexibly throughout the week, including evenings and weekends.
