Design Technician
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £28000 – £30000/annum 28 days holiday incl. public holiday
My client are a specialist in the design, manufacture and supply of metal cladding. Due to an increase in orders, they are looking to bring on board a Design Technician. The ideal candidate will have good Solidworks experience and be qualified to HNC level. Industry experience is also essential. You must also be based within commutable distance of Middlesbrough.
Design Technician Position Overview
Using Solidworks to produce 3D models based on customer requirements
Creating drawings ready for fabrication
Producing assembly drawings and instructions for installation purposes
Liaising with internal company departments and Production Team
Transferring Solidworks models to StreamPunch software
Nest and tool parts efficiently
Assisting Sales Team by producing and providing mock nests
Answering Production Team queries regarding fabrication methods
Design Technician Position Requirements
Qualified to HNC level in Mechanical Engineering
A good understanding of metal fabrication techniques
Able to produce engineering drawings
Around one year's Experience within a similar manufacturing environment
It is beneficial to have an understanding of lean manufacturing techniques and quality improvement tools
Based within commutable distance of Middlesbrough

Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 DOE
28 days holiday including bank holidays
