Due to our continued growth in FFE Consultancy in the educational furniture market, we are now seeking a full-time Design Manager/Project Consultant to work in a vibrant, culture-led business.

This company is experiencing solid and consistent growth, with projects becoming larger and increasing in technical detail.

This role is key to our successful project delivery, being integral to the successful FF&E design in new-build schools and colleges, aligning project information, adhering to applicable design standards, and adherence to BIM requirements.

We provide a comprehensive and detailed design service to our clients, carrying out FFE designs through the RIBA build stages including space planning, preparing 3D models and visuals, interior design schemes, FFE packages, and bespoke furniture/joinery installations.

The role we are recruiting for is a Design Manager / Project Consultant to work around the Midlands/Northern regions. The design team currently comprises of a team of approximately 25 people.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience in a similar role within the industry. The role is technically based and will involve client liaison, with some commercial elements.

The successful candidate must take pride in their work and be able to perform under pressure and to tight deadlines. A team player is essential.

Duties include but not are limited to:

Attending and leading client project meetings and negotiating lead times
Checking and issuing 2D drawing layouts
Checking and issuing 3D models and visual representations
Overseeing colours and finishes selection
Debriefing to the design team
Overseeing the commercials of the project
Overseeing the issue of detailed information for our loose, fitted, and specialist furniture packages
Introduce self and company, build rapport with client
Managing stakeholder expectations (DfE, Academy Trusts)
Obtain client brief, requirements for design, spatial, timescales, priorities, etc.We welcome applications for this Design Manager/Project Consultant role from candidates with any of the following skills or attributes: Space Planner, architectural design, Designer, BIM, Revit, modelling, construction, Revit Technician, Technical Draughtsman, AutoCAD.

Desirable Skills
