Industrial Designer

Salary : £27000 – £32000/annum 12 month FTC
An award-winning design and innovation consultancy are seeking to hire an Industrial Designer to join their creative team. Based in London, you will be responsible for product design and concept generation across a range of consumer electronics and medical devices. This is a 12 month fixed-term contract (FTC) paying up to £32,000 per annum. On top of the salary, you'll also get 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, private healthcare, life assurance and income protection.
As an Industrial Designer will you be responsible for:
User and design research such as ethnographic, human factors and ergonomics.
Concept generation and development.
Freehand sketching and 3D surface modelling using Solidworks.
Creating photorealistic renders using Keyshot.
Liaising with engineers and key stakeholders to ensure your concepts are viable.
Communicating and pitching your concepts to senior management and key decision makers.
To be successful as Industrial Designer you will have:
Proven experience as an Industrial Designer or Product Designer for consumer brands, medical devices or design consultancies.
Qualified to degree level in either PhD, MSc, MA, MEng, BA, BEng or BSc Product Design or Industrial Design.
A high level of proficiency using surfacing on a major 3D CAD system (such as Solidworks, CREO or NX) and rendering tools such as Keyshot.
Excellent freehand sketching and presentation skills.
Experience in qualitative research techniques.
