Starting Point Recruitment are recruiting for a  on behalf of our client, Walsall Council.
The working pattern for the successful candidate for the Cultural Activity Programme Management Officer role is full time 37 hours.
3-month temporary ongoing assignment
The role would require the successful candidate to work remotely and attend the Civic Centre offices as required.
Rate of pay is £20.98 per hour.
 
This is an exciting time for Walsall as significant new investment into heritage and culture and major regeneration initiatives combine to transform the economic and social future of the borough.
The area has been awarded £3.7m by the Government’s Cultural Development Fund (CDF) to establish a creative industries centre in the town and deliver a new programme of cultural activity. With huge potential for artistic and cultural development across the borough and the funds to catalyse the growth of the creative industries; this is a pivotal role with the resources and scope to transform Walsall for this and future generations.
Cultural Activity Programme Management Officer duties include but are not exclusive to:

The role of Programme Management Officer will be to manage and coordinate the commissioning, delivery, and evaluation of the Arts Council funded Cultural Development Programme, in line with the delivery plan.
Work closely with the Council’s town centre and regeneration teams, as well as the programme management service to help drive the project forward. Also work closely with stakeholders across the borough including Walsall Cultural Compact, New Art Gallery, and voluntary and community sector organisations, ensuring local communities remain at the heart of the project.
Responsible for commissioning cultural activity and overseeing its delivery and performance, liaising with external creative organisations, managing financial transactions, project and budget reporting, and monitoring and claims submissions to Arts Council England.
Please note that this post is funded by the Cultural Development Fund, which is a Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) fund administered by Arts Council England. 
Experience required:

Education at Degree Level or equivalent experience (1-2 years in similar roles).
Excellent project management skills are essential, preferably in an art, heritage and/or cultural environment. This is a new post that will work in partnership across services, organisations, and sectors, so the post holder will need experience of high-level stakeholder management. You should be passionate about the role that culture can play in transforming communities and improving people’s lives and strong organisation, communication and monitoring skills are a must.
