Design Assistant – Men's Tailoring
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £26000 – £28000/annum Life insurance, 8% pension
Long-established international clothing manufacturer is recruiting for a Design Assistant (Men’s Tailoring) with 1-2 years post-graduate experience for their London office. You will work closely with the Men’s Tailoring Design Director on collections targeting multiple global retailers/etailers.
Design Assistant – Men’s Tailoring – The Job Details
* Researching and identifying the latest key trends to inspire and develop new garments/ranges
* Using this research to create inspirational mood boards for customer presentations
* Working on own brand, helping on photoshoots & social media account
* Updating excel charts with accurate fabric/trim information to ensure accurate costings can be made by Commercial teams
* Updating tech packs for factories
* Using internal PLM system to create garment samples & update bulk fabric & trim approvals (training will be given).
* Dealing with incoming mail and parcels & general day to day admin
* Liaising with fabric mills & internal fabric teams for sourcing & samples
Design Assistant – Men’s Tailoring – Experience & Skills
* A Fashion design degree or qualifications relevant to apparel design
* Previous experience of working as a Design Assistant or similar (menswear experience preferred)
* A confident, proactive approach, capable of working effectively in a team under pressure in a demanding fast paced environment
* Advanced Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
* Product Development skills
* Good technical and fabric awareness
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills
