Bracken House – Residential Home Cook – Full time including alternate weekends
We are looking for a passionate cook for our residential home, Experience is desired but not essential as long as you can cook!
Duties will include
* Preparing healthy and well-balanced diet for all residents
* complying with all dietary needs for residents i.e. diabetics vegetarian etc as well as offering choice to all residents.
* monitoring kitchen stock
* maintain high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen

About You
Qualities were looking for:
* Good communicator and can lead by example
* Good record keeping skills – documenting information in accordance with guidelines
* Focused
* Genuine passion for food and for our resident's dietary requirement
What we need from you:
* To oversee the smooth running of the kitchen
* Ensure kitchen protocol is maintained
* Ensure safe food handling is adhered to ie frozen foods are defrosted before using
* To ensure all meals are ready at the appropriate time
* To offer and prepare, if necessary, at least three main options for lunch each day ensuring that fresh vegetables are used
* To delegate appropriate work to the kitchen assistant as required and monitor that this has been carried out to a satisfactory level
* To ensure cleaning completed as per rota
* Prepare fresh cakes for afternoon tea/special occasions
* Adhere to COSH policies, procedures and documentation requirements
* Complete relevant in-house training in accordance with job description
* Completion of satisfactory DBS checks
