We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Catering Lead to join our team based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.  This is a full time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.

Responsibilities:

Operation of Catering providing an on Budget service meeting the contractual KPI’s.

Ensure operations conform to all legislation e.g. Food Safety, HACCP, COSHH Allergens H&S. 

Ongoing development of Saffron on site to deliver robust MI systems.

Develop relationships within the PFI contract to ensure best practice and seamless service delivery.

Day to day input for operations ensuring continuous improvement and P&L targets are met.

Recruitment of catering teams with the soft services manager and development of the staff teams.

Build and maintain professional relationships that will aid contract retention/extension.

To ensure all standards of food preparation and service are established, maintained and achieved. 

To ensure all agreed service and financial objectives are met in line with expectations.

Ensure that all Managers, Head Chef, Supervisors and their teams are constantly aware of the changing needs of their customers and adopt menus and style of service that meet those needs. 

Prepare and present financial and operational information within agreed time scales.

To control and achieve financial targets whilst maximising all commercial opportunities. 

Identify and plan workforce needs. Develop personnel to meet staffing and succession needs.

Coordinate personnel appraisals and develop employees within a positive environment.

Induct, train and coach employees

Accountable for innovation and continuous improvement within the catering service.

Drive forward the focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; support the wider CSR initiatives.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Essential Criteria:

One or more of the following or equivalent qualifications: HND, City and Guilds 706/1 and 2, NVQ level 2 and 3 and possess a level 2 food safety certificate.

Management knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety.

Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).

Experience in creating, leading, coaching and mentoring operational teams.

Strategic standpoint with a desire to drive innovation.

Desirable Criteria:

IOSH and CIEH qualifications or equivalent.

Proven experience of managing franchised catering outlets.
