Location: Huddersfield – 2 days a week in the office

A great opportunity to join a growing IT solutions provider who operate with multiple customers across the UK. They are seeking a pro-active 2nd line IT support professional who will be responsible for IT support services to customers and also internal business users. You will updates systems, troubleshoot problems, be involved in the installation of software and provide hands-on support for IT issues.

The 2nd Line IT Support Technician will be a customer-facing member of the IT Support team and, as such, must be an excellent communicator and able to deal effectively with customers in potentially time-critical scenarios.

Main responsibilities for the 2nd Line IT Support Technician include:

• Troubleshooting IT issues escalated to you from 1st line support and providing regular updates on the issues.

• Providing technical support either by phone, remote access or site visit.

• Keeping systems up-to-date through OS and software upgrades.

• Setting up and configuring new client devices for use both internally and for deployment into customer environments.

• Assisting the Projects and Sales departments to resolve any queries or problems they may have when creating proposals/plans for new solution deployments.

• Performing routine Office 365 duties to ensure the highest levels of security.

• Working on IT projects and ensuring schedules are met for the successful delivery of those projects.

• Visiting client sites to perform regular IT audits and complete preventative maintenance.

• Installing hardware and software solutions both remotely and onsite.

• Performing preventative maintenance tasks for all clients and internal systems.

Key experience required for the 2nd Line IT Support Technician:

• Experience working with and troubleshooting Microsoft Operating Systems and Applications.

• Previous experience as a 2nd Line IT Support Technician

• Experience with Office 365

• Previous experience installing hardware and software

Due to the nature of this role, all applicants must hold a full driving licence and have access to their own transport. The employee will have to travel to customer sites
