Job description

To oversee and manage multiple client projects. You are responsible for managing all aspects of the project from receipt to completion. This will include:

– Receiving the design brief, providing quotes and production lead times as appropriate. You will be involved in initial project meetings where you will need to offer and discuss project direction. You may need to provide quotes to supply the work and will need to estimate production lead times on print work. Communication with the client throughout production is key as well as providing constant feedback on how the project is progressing.

– Work with external suppliers to outsource work. Certain work will need to be outsourced, so you will need to manage work through other suppliers. Quality, budget and timelines will need to be managed.

– Provide a full briefing to the production team. Daily and weekly meetings with the production team to brief in projects and set project targets will be required. The production team must have a full understanding of what is expected of them.

– Staff Management and training. Management of all Print staff and keeping morale high at all times. To provide or organise training to staff members and to keep this well documented.

– Scheduling of work and staff timetables. To manage the flow of work to ensure all the work can be completed in good time. To manage staffing hours to ensure all work can be completed when needed – this may include organising overtime and weekend work.

– Check Pre-Press proofs to make sure required specifications are met. Pre-proofs are sent to the client before any print is sent to production. Pre-proofs must also be checked before being sent to client.

– Oversee the Quality Control of products throughout each stage of the production. QC of goods is vital to make sure we meet the high demands of our clients. All work must be QC'd and signed off before it can be passed on to Dispatch.

– Briefing in project detail to Dispatch and Logistics. Making sure printed goods are sent to packing in good time to meet collection requirements. Clear discussions with the packing team to ensure they're aware of how goods need to be packed and that all allocated parts are ready.

– Budget control/management and HOST admin. Making sure projects are in line to make profit and within the budget quoted.

– Order materials and organisation of stock control. Correct materials to be ordered to specification and fit for purpose. Stock levels of material must be managed and readily available.

– Organising machine repairs and service contracts. Downtime of machines must be kept to a minimum and all machines in good working order.

The candidate must have experience in Large Format Print Production and should have at least 5 Years experience in managing Print Production.

Experience in working within each Department (Studio, Print, Finishing) is advantageous.

Experience using Project Management tools / scheduling tools is a must.

The candidate must be sufficient in using spreadsheet software such as Excel or Numbers.

The candidate must have excellent communication skills and respond to clients in a professional manner.

Salary: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year

* 10 hour shift

* 8 hour shift

* Overtime

* Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

* Stevenage, SG1 4SZ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
