Outstanding opportunity here for a Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join a recently set up office in Wolverhampton, within an AJ100 company with offices based throughout the UK. An excellent time for a Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join and grow with the office in it's early stages, allowing you the opportunity to be involved with future decisions on business direction, recruitment, and everything in between, down to the decor of the office!

THE PRACTICE

As a Part 2 Architectural Assistant you will be joining a regional office of an AJ100 company with offices UK wide, as part of their new, thriving office in Wolverhampton. The Wolverhampton office was formed at the back end of 2021 with the purpose of growing the Midlands division even further, doubling up on their already large scale office in Birmingham city centre.

In the space of 9 months, the Wolverhampton office have grown to a team of 7, headed up by two Directors with a wealth of industry experience between them with backgrounds within AJ100 practices, developers and contractors alike. As a Part 2 Architectural Assistant joining this practice, you will be provided with expert guidance and development opportunities as you progress towards your Part 3 status.

The practice are based in modern offices and are easily accessible via public transport, and also have free parking on site for those commuting by car. As the Wolverhampton office is still in its infancy, the practice would like staff to attend the office as much as possible, which will promote a close knit team and positive atmosphere. At the same time, the company will offer plenty of flexibility where required, understanding that staff members require flexibility for things like school runs, and the need to work from home on occasion.

THE ROLE – PART 2 ARCHITECTURAL ASSISTANT

The position on offer is for a Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join the team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 1-2 years of industry experience, with the ultimate aim of providing support in the early RIBA stages. Roles & responsibilities of the Part 2 Architectural Assistant as follows:

Providing support on feasibility studies on commercial projects.
Undertaking general due-diligence, reviewing development constraints and identifying opportunities.
Developing sketch ideas into detailed proposals.
Supporting on Planning applications assisting with Design & Access Statements and drawing packages
Provide support with the presentation and collation of design documents
Attending and contribute to design workshops where required.
Review or modify the plans according to incoming requests.

You will largely be working on Logistics and Industrial sector projects, which is a hugely rewarding, challenging and interesting sector to work within.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Qualified to Part 2 degree level, with a qualification recognised by RIBA
Solid understanding of UK Planning and Building Regs processes.
AutoCAD & Revit proficiency, alongside the ability to use Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and SketchUp being desirable.
Prior experience in the industry would be preferred, with experience in the Logistics sector being extremely favourable (but not essential).
