Head of Wardrobe – Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for a full-time, experienced Head of Wardrobe on the London production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, this new play by Jack Thorne received its world premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in summer 2016. The critically acclaimed production is the most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best New Play and Best Director in 2017.
Candidates will require relevant hands-on professional experience in a management position: they should be able to lead a team and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They should run a successful department and liaise with all other departments on the production and associated personnel. Candidates should be able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure as well as having strong organisational and time management qualities to ensure that the production runs efficiently and smoothly, and the costume designs are maintained.
Technical skills required include excellent: ability to supervise dressing cues (from simple to extensive plots); experience and good knowledge in the maintenance of varied garments and textiles with excellent hand and machine sewing skills; computer skills with knowledge of Word and Excel.
Experience on a large-scale production is essential.
Start Date: October 2022 or as soon as possible

Job Location: West End London
Contract Type: A year contract in the first instance, then the contract will be rolling.
Salary: Competitive HOD salary, in excess of SOLT/BECTU Grade 1. Plus yearly bonus and Sunday pay.
Weekly Hours: 8 shows per week plus maintenance and understudy calls.
