Project Running Architect

Salary : £40000 – £45000/annum
Conrad Consulting are currently working in partnership with an outstanding AJ100 practice, seeking an ambitious Project Running Architect with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience, to join their regional studio hub in the city centre of Leeds.
The practice has become a prominent force in the architectural industry throughout the UK and internationally, with offices in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Featuring consistently in the AJ100, the practice prides itself on developing and supporting Architects to realise their full potential, they also offer an outstanding design led portfolio and are famed for their contemporary ambitious designs which are regularly recognised during awards season.
Due to an increase in workload and a long-term project pipeline spanning several years in advance the Leeds office are now seeking a talented Job running Architect with approximately 4-5 years of post qualification experience to join their talented and ambitious team. You will be presented with the opportunity to work on highly notable projects, predominantly in the Education sector with the majority of the work being awarded via regional and national Education frameworks. Whilst they are best known for their Education work they also have a growing presence within the Residential, Healthcare and Commercial Sectors, there is the opportunity to gain cross sector experience due to them not having specific sector teams, quite rare given the size of the practice.
You will also run projects of your own while leading a small team of Architectural Assistants/Technicians, you will also be exposed to project work across all RIBA stages so a solid and well-rounded Architect with a breadth of skills encompassing design and technical is high on their priority agenda.
Other responsibilities of the Project Architect include:
Contract administration.
Calculate project costs, prepare fee schedules and financial management of projects.
Attend regular meetings with clients, contractors and any other external entities.
Prepare detailed design drawings from which costings are made, working drawings, schedules, and specifications, using 2D, 3D Autodesk and 3D rendering packages.
Prepare tender bids, submissions and planning applications and presentations.
Skills, qualifications and experience required of the Project Architect include the following:
Parts 1-3 qualified and currently ARB / RIBA registered.
Chartered member of RIBA.
Approximately 5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within a private practice and preferably in the UK.
Experience of working on projects within the aforementioned core markets.
Excellent organisation, planning and management skills in order to effectively lead projects.
Ambitious & workable design ethos, excellent conceptual design capabilities.
In return, the successful Project Architect will be offered a salary in the region of £40,000-£45,000 (dependant on experience), alongside a competitive benefits package, agile working model currently consisting of 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.
