We are excited to be on the search for a new Senior urban Designer to join our Masterplanning team in London. The experienced designer will assist in dealing with a variety of masterplanning and urban design matters, enhancing existing client relationships, and to contribute towards the overall growth of the P&D division. This role is varied and challenging with opportunity to be involved in preparation of bids, project management and much more!

The main Senior Urban Designer tasks of the role will include:
* Preparation of bids & presentations to win work
* Pre-application meetings
* Client & stakeholder engagement
* Project management
* Urban design strategies and capacity studies
* Development briefs/frameworks for sites
* Master planning
* Design code preparation
* Design policy
Applications
* Give advice to clients on planning potential
* To work in close partnership with the wider Carter Jonas masterplanning and urban design team (as well as external providers) in preparation of detailed plans for development schemes
* To work in close partnership with other departments of Carter Jonas to provide a range of services and professional advice to enable clients to make the right decisions
General
* Prepare design and development briefs
* Prepare masterplans, area wide plans, visions and other design documentation
What does it take to be successful as a Senior Urban Designer
* You will have a proactive attitude, with ideally a professional Urban Design or Architecture qualification (or equivalent experience).
* You will have gained a strong technical knowledge of urban design with the ability to manage projects when needed.
* You will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of planning law and practice.
* You will be ambitious with the desire to keep developing your skills and knowledge and show interest in supporting the team to help grow the business further.
