Our client is leading in the Jewellery industry and is known for their bespoke design excellence. To support their rapid growth, they are seeking a talented and experienced Micro-Setter to join their manufacturing team in Birmingham.
The successful candidate will be responsible of producing high-quality set product in various metals ranging from silver through to platinum. A strong jewellery manufacturing background is essential however the successful applicant will also have excellent team working skills, strong hand-eye coordination, good attention to detail and most importantly; enthusiasm for producing high quality product.
The successful candidate must be competent in all areas of micro setting (fish tail, grain, castle, bright cut, channel, fancy shaped stones) and comfortable using GRS equipment.

Responsibilities:
" Working to daily targets, with a variety of precious stones and metals, set stones in a variety of jewellery and settings including: Claw, Rubover, Channel, Grain, also mark out and set from blank.
" Work from diagrams to ensure pieces are finished to customer requirements.
" Quality check all stones on receipt (before setting) and report imperfections to JBR or operations.
" Quality check all own work before releasing to QC for final check.
" Keep workbench area tidy and ensure all hand-tools are in a good state of repair and fit for purpose.
" Sweep down workbench area at the end of each shift and ensure that debris collected is sent for refining.
" Maintain a safe, secure and healthy working environment to meet the required standards.

The Micro Setter will have the following Skills & Experience
" Jewellery bench work qualification or equivalent experience.
" GCSE English-sufficient to read the production tickets.
" GCSE maths-sufficient to understand basic technical drawing and transpose dimensions to the product.
" Takes initiative and works under own direction.
" Works in a systematic logical and orderly way.
" Manages time effectively, monitors performance against deadlines and milestones.
" Strong hand-eye coordination
" Good attention to detail
