Introduction…
We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a company in Somerset that provides a comprehensive range of critical nuclear solutions in clean energy, defence and civil new build and decommissioning projects. You will be joining a team who are working on the first of a new generation of nuclear power stations designed to support the UK's ambition to reach net-zero by 2050.
Roles & Responsibilities
As the Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Creating and implementing temporary electrical building services design solutions for the onsite Common Building Services.
Ensuring the integration, technical assurance, compliance, health, safety and sustainability of design and engineering to enable compliant defect free handover for operational service, delivered to programme and budget.
Being part of the CBS electrical design and electrical CBS team to provide design solutions.
You will also support the Design Manager and contribute to design / construction reviews & sign off.
Ensuring design risks are considered and prepare design risk assessments.
Communicating residual design risks to others.
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Degree educated or equivalent (HNC/ HND) within the electrical engineering discipline.
Experience within Autodesk Electrical.
Experience within temporary services or oil rigs, temporary utilities or construction is essential.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and write clearly and succinctly.
Promote innovation and continuous improvement in design.
Excellent IT Skills are desirable.
Detailed knowledge of codes of practice, in particular designer duties and responsibilities under CDM and other regulatory requirements.
