Job Type : Contract, Full Time

Salary : £20.90 – £24.47/hour

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow/Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Graphic Design Manager for an initial 5 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £20.90-£24.47 per hour PAYE. Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based but attendance may be required in Glasgow/Edinburgh.

Responsibilities:

-Provide leadership and direction including the professional and personal development of team members

-Creation, development and delivery of high quality resources for digital and print, including eLearning Modules, animations and web

-Provide specialist advice to team members, colleagues and clients to ensure appropriate formats and accessibility requirements are achieved

-Managing the Organisation’s Brand ensuring appropriate usage of logo, fonts and colour palette

-Estimating, scheduling, project management and invoicing of all major organisational projects involving Design input

Essential Skills:

-Substantial experience in managing a large team of creatives

-Ability to deploy resources appropriately to meet the needs of major projects

-Extensive knowledge of current accessibility standards

-Significant experience in the design, delivery and on-going support of digital and printed resources, including eLearning modules and web-based materials

-Significant experience of research and evaluation methods relating to client briefs  

-Extensive experience working in a graphic designer role

-Experience of working within Corporate Brand Guidelines

-Confident in liaising with clients to develop briefs and manage and deliver resources

-A proven track record of diplomacy and understanding when dealing with colleagues and clients

-Appraise the performance of team members and identify relevant learning needs

-Experience of communicating and influencing across teams and of giving presentations at local levels

-Ability to work with minimal supervision and to meet deadlines

-Flexible approach to learning and problem solving

-Commitment to personal and professional development

-Substantial level of graphic design skills, including image creation and manipulation, page layout, knowledge of colour theory, visual hierarchy and use of typography

-Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud Applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects

-Ability to advise clients on appropriate approaches and final formats of resources to meet the needs and expectations of both client and end-user

-Knowledge of print production and procurement processes

-Experience in delivering constructive critiques on the work of others

-Ability to summarise complex issues in concise and easily understood fashion

-Working knowledge of Microsoft 365

-High level customer service skills, with a helpful, flexible attitude

-Supervisory role including coaching and/or mentoring of team members

Desirable Skills:

-Honours Degree level qualification with in-depth experience or SCQF Level 10 equivalence obtained via Professional Development Awards; Graduate or Professional Apprenticeships; and SVQs

-Experience of working and communicating with top-level management

-Experienced in Agile Methodologies

-Experienced in modern technology delivery methodologies

-Experience of working within a complex and dynamically changing team

-Experience of working collaboratively with other individuals and/or teams

-Experience of estimating, scheduling and invoicing of design work

-Fast and Accurate keyboard skills

-Working knowledge in coding HTML, CSS and Javascript

-Accurate eye for detail

-Numeracy

-Ability to deliver training appropriate to needs

-Knowledge of User Experience theories and practices

-Understanding of the application of GDPR to the storage and use of participant information and data privacy
