Theatre Technician
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £21625 – £22125/annum
Our technical department is at the heart of the venue, and we are looking for a new team member to work with us as a Theatre Technician, providing high-end technical support to our full programme and help maintain our excellent standards.
This Theatre Technician role involves working closely with our Chief Technician and deputising for them on some productions. We are looking for a can-do attitude and good customer service.

Job Purpose
To play a key role in the technical delivery of The Core's Theatre, Events, and Creative Project programme
To carry out maintenance on technical equipment, infrastructure, and general building facilities and equipment within The Core's leased areas
To assist in the preparation and running of ancillary spaces for bookings
Key Task Areas
To be instrumental in the technical preparation for and delivery of shows, creative projects, and cinema screenings to a high standard
Prepare spaces, equipment, furniture, and the format of rooms ready for use
When required, to fulfil the role of Duty Technician in accordance with The Core's policies and procedures, including the supervision of part-time/casual technicians
To maintain and upkeep all spaces of The Core including routine maintenance and improvement works
To provide excellent customer service to The Core's internal and external customers
To supervise and assist contractors when required
Promote and adhere to the organisation's culture and values
To undertake equipment maintenance
To drive any theatre vehicles when required if a suitable license is held
To maintain up to date knowledge of current and new equipment and practices
To be aware of, adhere to, and implement any legislative requirements consistent with overall duties of this post, with particular regard to Health and Safety policies and procedures, General Data Protection Regulations, and the Equality Act 2010.
To undergo relevant training and development required by the Chief Technician
To carry out any other tasks allocated by the Chief Technician/Head of Operations on an ad hoc or continuing basis, commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the postThis Theatre Technician role would suit candidates with skills or experience in the following areas: Theatre, Technical, Technician, Lighting, Sound.

Experience in a similar environment is required to be successful in this Theatre Technician role.

Experience
Working within a venue with a large and active participatory programme
Experience of technical delivery of received work
Experience of maintaining and developing performance, backstage, and ancillary areasKnowledge/Qualifications
Proven interest in at least one of lighting, sound, staging, and flying systems & rigging
Any formal theatre qualifications / relevant training certificationSkills and abilities
Good people management and staff deployment skills
General maintenance skills and familiar with use of power and hand tools

The Core at Corby Cube is a registered charity and we have recently celebrated our 10th Birthday. In this time, we have welcomed more than 300,000 audience members and participants to our town centre venue and made a local economic impact of £16.8 million.
The Core at Corby Cube consists of three spaces. The Theatre seats 445 people on three levels – the main live programme takes place here with professional visiting companies, local amateur groups, schools, and community organisations all regularly performing on the stage. We present music, comedy, dance, theatre, and family shows and have recently seen visits from Sarah Millican, Northern Ballet, Jason Manford and The Searchers, to name a few. The Lab is a studio space suitable for smaller scale shows and family activities. The Base is an underground workshop space which doubles as a training room, conference space, and recording studio
