A well-established, multinational, multidisciplinary and sustainability focused, City based architectural practice are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to be based in their London office.

The Assistant Management Accountant will provide full finance and payroll related administrative support to the Finance Manager. This post involves purchase ledger, receivables ledger, credit control and payroll processing duties. Significant relevant experience of general financial duties is essential. This is a hybrid role, for a very forward thinking employer.

Responsibilities

Input accounting data into sales and purchase ledgers (Sage 50) from source documents.
Assist in the production of monthly management accounts, preparation of spreadsheets, reports and correspondence as required
Ensure swift processing and payment of invoices and staff expenses in line with payment policies
Apply credit chasing policies to manage outstanding debts to an acceptable level
Assist with end of year preparation and procedures, including assisting with company audits and liaising with auditors
Maintain an efficient and effective filing system for finance and payroll records
Liaise with Senior Management to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Deal with and resolve general finance related queries on an ad hoc basis
Plan, organise and manage own workload to ensure your contribution to the company's monthly financial reporting process is achieved in a timely and accurate manner.
Work with the HR and Finance Manager's to liaise on staff changes and updates and assist with the preparation of the monthly payroll, as required.
Undertake any training and professional development as and when required
Provide training and guidance to other team members, as required (e.g. Excel skills)
Undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job title, as may be determined by the Finance Manager.

Skills and Experience

6+ years experience working within a Finance/Accounts team/department and undertaking a similar role is essential, preferably within architecture or the built environment
Some experience of administering staff payroll is desirable
Qualified or part-qualified in a relevant degree or professional finance related qualification (e.g. CIMA, AAT, ACCA etc.)
A good standard of education including excellent English language skills, both written and verbal with the confidence and ability to communicate clearly by telephone, in writing and in person with a wide range of contacts
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong collaborative internal and external working relationships at all levels
A supportive, calm and professional disposition.
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage time effectively in order to meet deadlines
Ability to work in a busy open-plan office environment that often demands high levels of concentration
Ability to respond effectively to changing priorities
Proactive with the ability to use initiative and to work autonomously
Good financial analytical skills with a good level of numeracy and ability to problem solve
Strong Excel skills including: Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP
A good working knowledge of Sage 50 software is essential
