They have an exciting opportunity for a talented Packaging Designer to join their manufacturing team at Tannochside in Glasgow. They would consider applicants from all design backgrounds – from Design Graduates looking for their first step into the world of work, to experienced Designers with a flair for innovation in our client's packaging sector. Reporting directly to the NPD Manager, the Designer is a key role, responsible for developing creative designs that meet / exceed their customers’ requirements.
Main duties of the role are:
Produce CAD drawings from previously manufactured samples.
Design new packaging around customer product to meet the needs of the brief.
Produce samples for approval.
Produce CAD drawings for the use in setting of artwork.
Generate relevant documentation and input details into Navision.
Ensure paperwork & systems are aligned.
Co-ordination / crossover with other plant functions in ensuring NPD (New Product Development) needs are met in a timely manner, maximising customer satisfaction e.g. preparing briefs for planning, pricing or customer requirements; working towards planned timelines.
To be successful in this Designer role, candidates will meet the following requirements:
Educated to degree level or equivalent in graphic, packaging or product design or able to demonstrate a competent level of work experience in design (preferably within our Packaging sector)
Ability to manage multiple projects
An ability to understand the insights behind design
Highly organised with strong attention to detail, team player, able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Quick to learn and develop new ideas
Able to provide creative, effective solutions
