I have the privledge of working this established and succesful family run business who currently have a fantastic opportunity to join their small and feel good team as a Large Format Digital Print Operator and Graphic Designer. You would be joining a team of 5 that are based in the Wigan area, who work on a wide and varied mix of products and projects within the design industry – with working in a small team, everyone mucks in to get the job done and keep the customers happy!
Your role as a Digital Print Operator and Graphic Designer is to get artwork ‘print ready’ through to production and finishing. I am looking for someone who is enthusiastic and motivated, that has an interest in design and will enjoy the practical side of graphics.
This business do the bulk of their production in-house at their Wigan workshop, utilising the latest in roll to roll and flat bed wide format printing, CNC cutting, laminating and finishing. They have also recently expanded into web development in order to be a ‘one stop shop’ for their customers and clients.
The salary is open from £20,000-£30,000 and this will be dependant on experience, my client is prepared to provide full training to the right candidate.
Duties of the position are:
Preparing artwork for production using Adobe Illustrator
Setting up and operating print jobs on Mimaki flatbed and roll to roll large format printers
Operating Kongsberg cutting and CNC routing table
Producing cut shape graphics for sign making and application
Operating laminating equipment and finishing printed products ready for installation
Applying vinyl graphics
Skills required for the position are:
An interest in design and ideally some experience of Adobe Illustrator
Attention to detail and accuracy when preparing, producing and finishing products
Able to work as part of the team to create the best solutions for our customers
Computer literate – specific training in our software will be given
A good level of written English
Able to work with power tools and knives when required
Physically able to handle media rolls and boards
Good communicator with customers to understand their requirements
