As a company, we provide a comprehensive and detailed design service to our clients, including space planning, preparing 3D models and visuals, interior design schemes, FFE packages and bespoke furniture in both the educational and workplace sectors.

We are looking for an office based, full-time technical designer to work on the detailing team. You will be providing manufacture information for projects mainly across the education sector. The technical design team currently comprises of three persons.

The ideal candidate will have experience in using Autodesk Revit (although this is not essential) and have a knowledge and understanding of fitted furniture design and manufacture. A recent graduate with the right attitude would be considered. The role is technically based and will primarily involve producing manufacturer information such as worktop drawings, cutting lists etc. for our manufacturers. You should take pride in your work and be able to perform under pressure and to tight deadlines. A keen interest in fitted furniture and the construction industry will aid the training process. A team player is essential.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Review designs and layouts to ensure they are buildable and comply with regulations
Create worktop drawings, drilling drawings, and detailed install drawings in Autodesk Revit
Produce panel spreadsheets, cutting lists
Check project order lines match the design.
Work closely with project delivery teams to solve technical issues on site.
Review processes and tools to improve processing accuracy and speeds.
Provide advice and technical guidance to other team members/ designers
Accompanying project managers for occasional site visits.

Essential Skills

Previous experience working in the UK.
Excellent written & spoken English & good communication skills
Problem solving and solution orientated.
Team player, developing/helping others.
Initiative to learn and improve.
Good attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to communicate effectively with suppliers, site fitters, and internal staff.
Ability to follow internal design processes and guides.
Competent in Microsoft Excel

Desirable Skills

Knowledge & understanding of fitted furniture
Design for Manufacturing experience
Basic knowledge of Autodesk Revit
Competent in 2D AutoCAD / Sketchup or other CAD software.
