Assistant Design Manager- Rail

Salary : £0 – £40000/annum
Critical Project Resourcing have partnered with a leading railway engineering contractor to assist in their recruitment of an Assistant Design Manager to their team in Derby. This organisation specialise in Electrification programmes, and have a fantastic portfolio of work covering the UK rail networks. The position of Assistant Design Manager will involve assisting the Design Managers in the team in the bids and delivery of design programmes to quality and budget through use of systems and processes.
The main duties of this position include:
Ensuring commercial agreements are in place for design packages prior to the works starting
Ensuring these agreements are then approved by the Design Managers
Assist the Design Management team in design management maintenance- showing project status and health
Assist with project change – building cost and programme impact – drafting early warning notices (EWN’s) where required for review with Design Management team
Drive Design processes and improvements alongside heads of design and enforce governance of design
Assist with management of subcontractors & associated commercial agreement to outsource required design works.
Experience and Qualifications:
APMP, Prince 2 or similar Project Management certification
Design engineering background or knowledge
A minimum of 12 months’ experience working in engineering projects
Some experience as a Design/Project Manager within an design or engineering discipline
Experience of working in the rail industry
Willing to Travel with valid UK driving licence
