Conrad Consulting are delighted to be working alongside one of the UK's largest house builders, seeking a Design Coordinator to join their regional office in Tamworth, West Midlands.

The house builder in question has grown from a small family run business over 70 years ago, to one of the UK's most successful 5 star developers in the UK, and are a respected national brand.

Working within a close knit Design team within the Tamworth office, you will be operating as a Senior Design Coordinator responsible for your own live sites taking them from inception through to completion. You may be tasked with running and being responsible for up to 8 live sites at a time at varying build stages. Given the range of stages you will be covering in the building cycle, this position would be best suited to a Design Coordinator that has come from a background as an Architect, or an Architectural Technologist with plenty of Design elements to their repertoire.

A brief outline of some of the Role & Responsibilities of the Design Coordinator as follows:

Production of design led, high quality, efficient and commercially viable housing layouts.
Assist in preparation of full and RM planning applications.
Appointment and management of external consultants for supporting designs and technical reports.
Organise discharge of planning conditions and section 106 obligations.
Responsible for up to 7-8 live sites at once.
Prepare drawing issues for tender, site and sales.
Apply for NHBC house type approval for bespoke house types/site specific variants.
Production of deed plans.
Appoint external landscape architects to produce plot landscaping and POS/play areas designs for planning submission.
Attend pre-start and legal set up meetings as Architectural representative for the region.

Skills & qualifications required of the Design Coordinator:

Experienced job runner
Ideally from an Architectural background with RIBA certifications (not essential)
Capable of taking sites & projects from inception through to completion
Experience in the procuring and critique of housing layouts
Thorough knowledge of UK Building Regs, construction detailing and specification writing
Sound knowledge and experience of the full planning process
Demonstrable experience within the house building/residential sector, ideally holding approximately 5 years of experience working for a housebuilder.
Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD
Hard-working, punctual and self motivated

Salary offered is between £48,000-£52,000 plus generous benefits including a Car or Car Allowance (and electric car scheme), Life insurance, Private Healthcare and 25 days holiday + bank holidays
