Excellent opportunity available here for an experienced Architect or Architectural Assistant to join a small but growing Architectural practice based in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.
The practice have only been established since 2018, in which time they have already developed an enviable client portfolio and grown to a team of 8 Architectural professionals, made up of Architects, Technicians and Assistants.
Residential work is the lifeblood of the practice, working with housebuilders and private clients alike on both multi-unit developments and one off housing. The individual for this role will ideally have a solid background in the Residential sector, ideally having worked either within or very closely with housebuilders or affordable housing schemes on a national scale.
The practice have secured themselves on a high profile framework within the social/affordable housing sector with guaranteed work for the next 5 years. This on top of their already secured project pipeline which will see them through the bulk of 2023, means they are ideally placed to take on any permutations in the economy over the coming months.
The position available is for either an experienced Part 2 Architectural Assistant/Architectural Designer or a experienced Architect, ideally with around 4-6 years of experience. Residential layout design and masterplanning experience is also very much preferred.
You'll be expected to be able to work in a client facing position while leading a team of Architectural Assistants/Technicians. There is huge potential for progression within the company, with the individual taking up this position presented with the chance to work through towards Associate level and beyond in the not too distant future.
Desired Attributes of the Architect/Architectural Assistant:
A good knowledge of residential layout design reinforced with examples of work.
Proven knowledge of current design standards that should be applied to residential projects.
Proven experience of working directly with clients as the main point of contact and liaising with local authorities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Experience of producing design and access statements.
Good knowledge of Working Drawings.
AutoCAD experience along with added benefit of Revit, Photoshop and Sketchup (predominantly AutoCAD based role).
