Junior Pre-press Artworker
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £22000 – £25000/annum
Your main responsibilities will be to preparing finished artwork for production within our on-site print and finishing facilities. We have a talented studio department, along with an array of cutting-edge digital printers and assorted digital cutter operated by a skilled team.
You will be taking the finished artwork files from our studio and ensuring they are checked and imposed correctly for a variety of different printing and finishing methods.
While preparing artwork for print you will liaise between the studio and production teams to ensure jobs are produced correctly and in an efficient and timely manner.
Imposition is a key part of the roll and you will be utilizing Esko Automation Engine to nest the files on various roll and sheet medias in order to get the most value out of a print run.
Attention to detail is critical to the role and you will be responsible for preflighting the studios files, checking the size, quantities & bleed is all correct and tallies with the job details and clients brief prior to going into production.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA (SKILLS & EXPERIENCE):
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience within an artworking and print environment.
• You must have impeccable attention to detail.
• Have the ability to work methodically and in a fast-paced environment with quick turnarounds and tight deadlines.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize jobs according to the workload.
• You must be self-motivated, conscientious and passionate about print.
• A willingness to assist in other areas where necessary.
CORE KNOWLEDGE BASE:
• Outstanding technical digital print knowledge.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience working on files for a varied range of print and finishing production.
• A good knowledge of Adobe CC especially InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro.
• Excellent written English.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
MAIN DUTIES:
• Checking artwork files and preparing them for print production.
• Overseeing automation & file nesting
• Working closely with the Studio and Production Teams
• Keeping your software and skill set up to date
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Flexibility in approach and willingness to work additional or unsocial hours if required.
• Consciousness of environmental issues and the company’s Sustainability Policies
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
KNOWELDGE & EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Graphic
Design / Artworking or Print Industry
SKILLS:
Attention to detail is a key part of the role.
Proficient knowledge of Adobe CC including
InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro.
Excellent knowledge of digital print.
Some knowledge of Esko Automation
Engine and Caldera RIP Software
