This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Toolmaker to be involved in the evolution of a well known product. This role would suit someone who has experience with precision and intricate small-scale parts within toolmaking and manufacturing.

The 'press tool' toolmaker role is a critical role, ensuring that high quality, dimensionally accurate metal items are manufactured efficiently to fulfil production requirements.
Performing effective reactive tooling maintenance on press/forming and blanking tools and occasionally assembly jigs e.g., servicing and repairs
Performing Preventative Maintenance in order to minimise unplanned downtime or quality concerns to maximise production time.
Working collaboratively with Production and Quality department to ensure Tool availability for manufacture of quality parts.
Working collaboratively to produce new tools from tool drawings with an opportunity to be involved in the design of tooling and sourcing of external assistance plus controlling the procurement.
Documenting break downs: identifying root cause and remedial action to help identify and resolve reoccurring issues for maximising time our machinery is productiveWhat we are looking for?

This role needs a highly skilled person, experienced in toolmaking ( predominantly Press tools ) activities. The role is based in an 'in-house' toolroom where we have an array of expensive, high specification, high quality equipment and where our team has a unique opportunity to use, share and grow their skillset.
Be a logical problem solver with excellent fault-finding abilities able to continually identify opportunities to develop tools and improve quality and performance
Be able to contribute to bringing new ideas and ways of working to the table and senior management team.
Be an effective communicator at all levels and be happy helping out in various areas of the business
Have experience of fine tolerance press tooling.
You will come from an engineering background, have a time served skillset or education within mechanical engineering.
Ideally have completed a Toolmaking Apprenticeship or gained experience in a toolmaking role primarily with press tools
