Our client is looking for a Studio Manager or Reprographics Pre-Press Mac Operator to join their team. You will be responsible for end-to-end handling of client artwork, pre-flighting, rectification, proofing, imposing and plating with a willingness to operate as a broad skilled pre-press operative and assist wherever necessary. Someone who has a willingness to bring ideas to the team and do whatever it takes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full day-to-day pre-press operations of the company
Pre-flight and proof client supplied artwork files to tight deadlines ensuring they meet appropriate production specifications
Identify and carry out artwork alterations / corrections to assist clients where necessary to conform with print-ready production specifications
Step and repeat layouts predominantly for multi version, multi working sheet complex printed packaging production
Process & make plates via CTP
Colour management, colour profiling and curve management
Process CAD files of structural designs, create nested impositions and process ordering of cutting formes
Process artwork file layers for decorative finishing processes such as embossing, spot UV varnish & foiling
Seek out methods for minimising and mitigating risk of error in all pre-press processes
Take ownership of establishing, maintaining policies and procedures
Manage the company's digital filing, logging & client artwork library storage
Keep up to date with latest reprographic, graphic design & structural packaging design software & hardware that the company would benefit from
Perform ongoing process review to present new ideas & ways of working that the company would benefit fromRequirements:
Proficient in Adobe CC, namely Illustrator and InDesign
High competence with pre-press imposition software, Kodak Prinergy Connect
Strong technical artwork, plate making, litho printing and decorative finishing knowledge
Strong technical forme making & structural packaging knowledge
Experience with structural packaging design software, ESKO Artios CAD or similar & CAD tables highly desirable bonus
Strong broad IT skills
Ability to adapt to new software and systems
Meticulous attention to detail
Professional and confident communicator
Willingness to assist in all areas necessary outside of normal dutiesOur client is looking for a hands on candidate, someone willing to roll their sleeves up and help out in other areas
