Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £50000 – £57000/annum
Mechanical Design Engineer Role:
CAD design experience – AUTOCAD 2D 3D & INVENTOR
– Supports product planning and provide technical input for future roadmaps and technology development plans
– Supports cross-program strategic continuity of design
– Understands and employs the fundamentals of mechanical design
– Run fit-for-purpose design analysis and apply knowledge & application of analytically tools
– Applies processes such Engineering Standard Work (ESW), iDFMEA, Failure Incident Review Group (FIRG) and tools such as 7-step problem solving to enable high quality decision making in concept development
The Successful Design Engineer:
– Degree in relevant engineering discipline with a minimum 3-5 years relevant experience.
– CAD design experience – AUTOCAD 2D 3D & INVENTOR
– Working experience with Internal Combustion Engine concepts
– Understanding of fundamental design principles & toolsets (DFM, DFA, DFMEA, design in
context)
– Familiarity with product design life cycle management (PLM) – particularly in concept development
– Self-motivation, time management and proactive prioritisation essential
– Strong people skills and the ability to work with a wide range of individuals
