ETHICAL & COMPLIANCE LEAD | MANAGER POSITION LADIES FASHION | MANCHESTER| UP TO £45,000

This ladieswear retailer is looking for a manager to join the growing ethical, compliance and garment technologist function. For this role, the ideal candidate will be invested in supplier relationships – ensuring that they are onboarded correctly, morally and audited effectively.

The Ethical & Compliance Manager will report into the Head of Technical with the exciting prospect of building up a team over 12 months to specialise and focus on different processes around; sourcing, sustainability, supplier capabilities and the general onboarding and exit plans that surround partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Obtain supplier order books, production plans, capacity, and general workplace practices around health & safety protocols
Ensure due diligence is at the forefront of all processes
Competent ability to read and manage supplier audits
Sound understanding of all sustainable efforts and the levels of certification around these sustainable fabrics i.e BCI, EcoVero, Tencel and Recycled yarns
Work with suppliers to meet business KPI's around placing volume or test and trial lines that work to their capacity capabilities
Facilitate production capabilities by leasing and communication with product & merchandising teams to work effectively with the supply base
Understand supplier ability and specialisms around different fabrications and trims
Review the supply base for testing and the uploading of accurate documentation pre-shipping goods
Work closely to the garment technologist team to understand and support the supply base on any workbook or fit requirements
Support the supply base on ways of working around quality expectation, fit samples and production seals
Work tirelessly with Design and Garment tech over sample requests and communication, ensuring suppliers are at all times clear of what is required
Be a main point of contact for new and established suppliers for any lead time, critical path and RTV practices
Actively on board new suppliers to the business that will improve and reduce risk for clothing ranges from a quality, fit and sustainable perspective You will be:

A supplier advocate and champion in previous roles
Experienced in knowing the different levels of compliance, documentation and certificate needed for all markets the brand trades in
Experienced in building and working on supplier handbooks with other areas of the business
Calm, approachable and excellent with communicating
Clear & concise at all times
