Salary : £42000 – £45000/annum inclusive of 120 premium hours
Theatre Royal Brighton is a beautiful, 215-year-old, grade two star venue in the centre of the city. One of a few theatres still operating as a hemp house, we present 300+ performances a year delivering a mixed programme of drama, comedy, dance, opera, music and pretty much anything else you can think of. We have recently played host to Sir Ian McKellen and John Bishop in Mother Goose and forthcoming highlights include Disney’s Winnie The Pooh, Fisherman’s Friends and Jenna Coleman and Aiden Turner in Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons.
Alongside visiting productions we have a varied programme of events, workshops, family activities and other creative learning projects. In early 2023 the venue is embarking on a capital project to restore the building façade and transform the front of house offering.
The Theatre Royal Brighton has an exciting opportunity for a full time Technical and Building Manager to join our experienced and motivated technical team. As Technical and Buildings Manager you will play a key role in ensuring our standards of presentation, both on stage and in the rest of the building, are exemplary. You will provide leadership to the technical, maintenance and backstage operations and teams ensuring a cohesive, efficient, cost- effective and robust technical and property structure and day to day operation is in place that supports our future.
This is a salaried post and includes some evening and weekend work as well as get-ins and get-outs as appropriate. All working hours are included within the annualised hours contract.
If you enjoy working with great people in an iconic venue – and being by the sea – this could be the job for you!
