A growing, high-end furniture design business, who focus on vintage and Scandinavian furniture designs, are looking to hire a logistics coordinator to join their operations team to help support their business. This is a pivotal role for them and a time of significant growth, so it is an exciting time to join them and an opportunity to make the role your own.
This is an office-based role in North London (with some flexibility)
The duties are as follows:
Liaising with Clients to book in their deliveries
Managing logistics subcontractors, booking couriers and freight forwarders
Obtaining quotes for international shipping, sea and air freight
Managing the collection and crating of orders before shipment
Briefing the warehouse to ensuring orders are packed and ready for despatch when needed
Preparation of all shipping documentation to ensure customs compliance, e.g. Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing List, Lacey Act Declarations
Assisting customers with import/export issues
Resolving delivery delays and issues with freight forwarders
Material sample despatch – Managing Import of goods and materials from US and EU
An ideal candidate will have:
Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
Knowledge of Import/Export process and documentation
Excellent verbal and written communication
PC literate – Word, Excel, Outlook, databases
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
A positive attitude with the ability to 'make things happen' is a must
Experience of working within design, or another similar creative environment
