Classroom Assistant – Lambeth, South West London

A fantastic Primary School located in the Lambeth area is seeking a Language Support Classroom Assistant. In this role you will be required to work independently with a small group of 3 children, 1 each from Yr 2, Yr3 & Yr4. These children are working way below their age and require a bespoke phonics/reading programme every day as well as speech and language support.

To be considered for this position you will need to be confident to deliver a programme to support these 3 children with minimal teacher support and ideally you will have had previous school based experience given the nature of this role.

Classroom Assistant to support a couple of students on a temporary basis until they are able to move schools
As a Classroom Assistant you may need to work with pupils with behavioural difficulties to help remain calm and focused on their learning
Classroom Assistant to ensure children are safe at all times inside and outside the classroom
You will need to be able to connect with children on a personal level and form a positive relationship with each student
Work with fellow members of staff to help students make progress with their learningRequirements:

Confident to deliver a phonics programme independently
Must be able to implement speech and language programmes and a clear/accurate speaker – to enable children to have sounds and words modelled clearly and accurately
Need to manage a mixed group of children
Be able to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4pm
