Parkwood Theatres is seeking an exceptional individual with strong leadership qualities to run the show at The Hawth Theatre in Crawley. Ultimately reporting to the Managing Director at Parkwood Theatres, you will be responsible for the Profit & Loss statement for the venue and for the management of all commercial, community and operational activities that deliver a successful and profitable outcome for the Theatre.
The Hawth in Crawley is one of our four theatre venues located around the UK. Opened in 1988, The Hawth offers one of the liveliest and most diverse programmes of arts and performance in the south east. Set in a 38 acre wooded site, The Hawth's facilities include the Theatre (seating 855), Studio (seating 146), meeting rooms, a restaurant and pizzeria, two bars, and an amphitheatre used for performances throughout the summer.
The Opportunity

This role is the lynch-pin of The Hawth Theatres’ core business of identifying, developing and delivering a high quality creative programme of work that both inspires audience growth and delivers financial targets.

It demands significant cross-company working and close engagement with the Managing Director, other Parkwood Theatre General Managers, our Client Crawley Borough Council and the wider Parkwood head office support teams.
*
Managing, motivating, and developing the staff within the theatre is another crucial part of this role, ensuring clarity of direction and delivery of business priorities.
*
Excellent with people, you will understand the needs of the business, your team, and customers, and be able to balance and manage conflicting priorities effectively.
*
This is a role that demands the ability to operate in a fast-changing environment, where efficiency and effectiveness are paramount.
The Person
*
Minimum of three years in a management capacity.
*
You will need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the commercial theatre business and will have strong financial and commercial skills.
*
Proven ability to organise, lead and motivate a large and diverse team while engendering a sense of teamwork and common purpose
*
Experience of analysing and interpreting data to make recommendations on actions.
*
Availability to travel.
*
Most importantly, you’ll be results driven, understand quality and have an appetite to raise the bar further.
