Sewing Machine Operator
Our client based in Hoddesdon is recruiting a skilled Sewing Machinist on a 12 week temporary to permanent basis. You will be working as part of their busy team on a production line producing high end leather goods. The hours for this role will be 7.30am – 4.15 pm Monday – Thursday and 7.30am – 1.30pm Friday. The hourly rate for a Sewing Machine Operator is £11 – £12 per hour, depending on experience.

Ideal candidate:
* Must have significant sewing machine experience
* Be able to stich a variety of fabrics
* Can stitch fine leather products such as logo badges onto lining
* Ideally be able to stitch leather belts & leather handle chapes
* Work to the required high-quality standards
* Work well under pressure
* Keen to learn
* Must be a team player
* Ability to work to deadlines
The key requirements for this role are as follows:
* Using the leather stitching machine: Durkopp Adler
* Need to possess the ability to stitch leather belts.
* Must be able to stitch fine leather products such as logo badges onto lining.
* Need to be able to stitch leather handle chapes.
* Needs to be able to stitch a variety of fabrics for drop in linings.
* Need to possess good knowledge of construction techniques.
