Knitwear & Loungewear Ladies Designer 35k LEEDS
A multichannel lifestyle retailer which offers unique women's and men's clothing, gifts and accessories are looking for an experienced and creative womenswear designer to join their design team. Your main areas of responsibility will be, knitwear and our loungewear. Working closely with the buying team and head of design, to continually grow and develop the offer.
You will also be required to work on specific inline ranges for our partner companies, in liaison with our wholesale team and partner buyers. You will be required to develop graphics, embroideries and prints to sit with your styles where needed. You will be dealing directly with suppliers to develop your designs, creating a good rapport with them and providing detailed techpacks. You will also contribute new ideas and concepts to the team, that are tailored to the brand’s customer, you will achieve this by having an in-depth knowledge of the market and relevant trends. The role also involves you managing any given deadlines and attending sign off meetings.
The Role:
• Trend research, design and development of ranges
• Attending regular meetings with buyers
• Sourcing of new fabrics
• Work collaboratively with design, buying and QC from concept to completion aligning on seasonal direction, trends, timelines and customer insights
• Create amazing products and work with the finest fabrics
• Build brand identity by delivering beautiful collections that are true to the Joe Browns aesthetic
• Ensure the development of the collections and trends each season, providing a complete knitwear, swimwear and loungewear offer for our customer
• Engage in research for the knitwear department ensuring our customer focus by constantly evaluating customer types, trends, insights, and tendencies
• Provide a high level of awareness and knowledge of current and future trends and to use this enhance the design quality of the department
The ideal candidate will have:
" You will have a strong design ability across all areas of ladieswear and be able to produce clear cads and tech packs.
" Experience of knitwear would be preferable but not vital.
" You need to have knowledge of working with and creating garment prints, in both photoshop and illustrator formats.
" You will have 3 years+ experience as a designer focusing mainly on ladies and have a compelling design portfolio. We are looking for someone who is passionate about clothing and design and loves to create.
" Creativity skills and problem-solving aptitude
" Good command over design techniques and visual elements
" Knowledge of garment construction and quality procedures

The role is Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
Flexible working between the hours of 7.30am and 6.30pm – with he core hours being 10am to 4pm
Once settled in you would be free to work from home one day per week
