Job Description:
As part of the design team you will be responsible for ensuring the timely completion of drawings and designs including an up-to-date Technical Library Ensuring product compliance with regulatory, industry, structural and other standards Product Design and internal and customer technical support
Your essential duties will include –
Update Product Evaluation spreadsheet
Support sales with Technical queries std/non std
Update standard costings and costing system to suit Bill of Materials
Production of/produce/check sales layout drawings
Production of/produce/check customer product drawings
Production of/produce/drawing information pack
Production of/produce/check manufacturing drawings
Update of Technical Documentation Manual
Checking and signing of drawings
Manage changes to product designs
Support Customer technical queries
Ensure compliance with British and other Standards
Support new product development (brainstorm, invent and inspire)
Provide design support for both internal and external enquiries
Assist with Cost build up for special projects/products
Contribution & Support engineering cost down
Develop and manage pictorial installation instructions for products
Provide technical info for Data Sheets, Drawings, BOM, Installation Instructions, O&M Manual
Maintain and update Technical Documentation Manual
Update/ improve standard costings and costing system (special elements)
Follow ISO9001 technical drawing/new product development procedures
Support with Install technical queries
Following all the requirements of the Langley Health and Safety policies and procedures; contributing to achieving objectives
Understanding your role within the Langley Quality Management System, aiming to improve performance and achieve objectives
Carry out any other duties as reasonably required
Skills, Attitude and Behaviour
Essential –
Accurate and strong attention to detail.
Ability to multitask, make decisions, manage time effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in MS Office and popular design software. Proficient in 3D AutoCAD and Inventor
BEng / BSc Engineering iMeche or equivalent
Nice to have –
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role Understanding of general finance and budgeting
