Structural Packaging Designer
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £35000 – £43000/annum Dependent on Experience
We are working with a leading Packaging Group who are looking to appoint a Structual Packaging Designer to compliment their award winning successful Technical Design team.
This is a fantastic opportunity join a creative company in a unique Design position.
Your core purpose will be to work closely with our clients Account Managers and customers, creating innovative design solutions to their existing and prospective clients.
You will be using LEAN techniques to generate cost effective solutions and contributing to design assignments in order to meet our client's growth, retention and profitability objectives.
Main Responsibilities
Working directly with Key Accounts developing multi-level relationships.
Provide advice and feedback to Account Managers, customers on effective Packaging solutions.
Creating innovative ideas and designs.
Working closely with customers taking design briefs and coordinating with Account Managers.
Generating samples using our clients Cad software.
Managing multiple Packaging Projects and meeting deadlines.
Test Packaging specifications, maintaining the Technical Dept. records to a high standard and provide required written reports where needed.
You will work between two of our clients sites based in Northamptonshrie and Hertfordshire, therefor must hold a current UK Driving Licence.
Skills & Experience
You must have previous experience of design creative Packaging solutions within the Corrugated or Carton industry, ideally having also worked with other packaging products. You work well within a team and can work autonomously where required.
Experienced in CAD design.
Ideally have customer facing work experience or be confident and have a desire to work directly with customers.
Experience of re-engineering to achieve customer cost saving objectives.
Project Management.
A full Driving License.
Be willing to travel throughout the UK when needed to visit customers at site.
Be computer literate.
Sound communications and presentation skills.
Good understanding of a B2B sales within a low margin, high volume environment.
Remuneration
You will receive a basic salary up to a maximum of £43k (DOE) with a pool car/company car.
