The Role
As an Apparel / Fashion Product Developer, you will work with the design and product line management functions and be responsible for taking product designs from tech pack stage through to final samples and buy ready status. Your duties will include:
* Reviewing initial tech packs and size specifications, ensuring completion and accuracy
* Liaising with the Fabric Technologist and Development team to identify appropriate supplier partners for each collection
* Reviewing price targets and monitoring these throughout the development process through to completion of final pricing
* Liaising with supplier partners to develop samples (from prototype through to pre-production) and managing this process accordingly. Responsibilities include tracking, measuring, fitting, reviewing and archiving samples
* Initiating sample reviews to include fit sessions where appropriate and providing supporting comments to both internal and external partners
* Monitoring the critical path and highlighting any risk to key dates, associated impacts and options to get back on-track as well as updating on current projects
* Developing and fostering strong working relationships with suppliers
* Managing individual workload and timelines
* Assisting in the design process by identifying opportunities for improvement or efficiency
* Contributing to Diamond Icon’s innovation agenda, identifying new ideas within the supply base
* Working with the supply chain team to ensure clarity of product development information both internally and externally
Our Requirements – Apparel / Fashion Product Developer
We’re looking for someone to act as a role model, maintain a positive attitude and support the broader team. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following skills:
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
* Personable and approachable with willingness and enthusiasm to support colleagues
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Confidence with the ability to command attention in groups of varying size and present information clearly and concisely
* Strong problem solving and decision making skills
* Proficiency with industry standard software packages (Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator are preferred)
The Package
You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 36.25 hours per week Monday to Friday, and during the summer months you will benefit from the option of an early finish at 2pm on Fridays.
You’ll also have the option for hybrid working, enabling you to combine working from home with working from the office HQ in the Northern Quarter in Manchester City Centre (at least 3 days per week, although you will need to be flexible).
