Job Type : Permanent, Full Time

Salary : £35000 – £45000/annum OTE Dependent on experience

Cloud 9 are working with a leading player in the corrugated packaging industry who are looking to appoint a Design Manager based in the Midlands. You will be responsible for delivering innovative design solutions with cost, sustainability and resource being at the forefront of your mind, as well as managing the design team to ensure deadlines are met. Key Responsibilities
* Liaise and collaborate with our clients' customers and key internal contacts to develop and deliver innovative design solutions that are cost effective, resource efficient and sustainable.
* Use and maintain the company's Innovative Tooling system effectively.
* Manage and lead the Design Department to ensure maximum performance, deadlines are met and queries are dealt with efficiently.
* Create a high standard of drawings/samples for customer approval.
* Address any queries or concerns where standards are lacking with design team.
* Keep all records accurate and correct, including drawings and enquiry forms.
* Maintain performance packaging process updating accurately all relevant persons and departments as to board grade lists.
* Manage the sample room, ensuring sample table and sufficient stocks are maintained.
* Ensure sample room is left tidy and a safe place to work.
* Operate structural design systems and business software efficiently.
* Communicate, coordinate, and actively contribute to the usage and training of the company's Innovative Tooling suite, and design related competitions/projects.
* Allocate and prioritise tasks that ensures high quality designs in a timely manner.
* Use and offer your expertise to design colleagues to maintain high performance and efficiency.
* Liaise regularly with sales, commercial and customer services to maintain high performance.
* Comply with company policies, regulations and health & safety at all times, reporting any accidents/hazards.
* Coordinate and manage teams' holidays.
Must Have's
We are keen to speak with people who have experience of managing a Design Department or have some experience of managing and are ready for the next step up! You must have previous experience of designing eye catching corrugated packaging solutions and also have a solid understanding of performance packaging, board grades and technical rationalisation.

Remuneration
