What we are looking for:
You will be a seasoned Buyer in the home category, with the credibility to make a significant impact to our ambitious commercial targets whilst also ensuring our products meet the current and future needs of our consumers. Experience in at least one of the following product categories is essential: bed linen, soft furnishings, textiles, and homewares.
Key responsibilities:
Integrate the category into the total business, from marketing through NPD to Sales.
Champion the category and ensure it is available across all sales channels.
Help develop new products and sources to ensure we are leading with innovative and differentiated products.
Manage our supply base to ensure we have the best commercial terms and supply security.
Be well versed in engineering product to meet commercial price-point.
Up to speed with market developments comparative shops, products, prices.Knowledge and Experience:
Experience in the home category essential.
Experience of bed linen, fabric, soft furnishings and home accessories preferred.
Strong negotiation skills with experience in leading negotiations and track record of achieving continuous margin improvement.
Experience of sourcing from overseas factories, particularly China, Pakistan and India.
Strong commercial approach with consumer perspective to source innovative product.
Experience in working with design and commercial teams in the development process.
Highly organised and able to work on multiple projects at the same time.
Reactive, able to work at a fast pace to tight deadlines and under pressure.
Strong attention to detail.
Independent and a self-starter.
