A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Artist Assistant to join our client, a Fine Art Transport Company based in London.
As the Senior Artist Assistant, your role will be to working alongside the tech team, helping move and hang artworks across different locations.
Daily duties will involve lifting and moving artwork and materials, as well as assembling, constructing and disassembling artworks.
You will also be overseeing the artist assistants’ daily duties, then providing feedback to management regarding their performance.
Senior Artist Assistant key areas of responsibility:
Oversee photography and the production of artworks in the studio.
Carry out research for future projects.
Ensure all tools and work-related equipment are well looked after.
Attend regular meetings with the management to discuss progress of production, refinement of processes etc.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be assembling, constructing and disassembling artworks, so having experience handling, packing and hanging art is required for this role.
We are looking to hear from candidates who have knowledge of painting techniques and materials, as well as previous experience of the production and installation of 2D artwork projects.
You will also need to have strong colour theory and painting skills, along with strong drawing and draftsman skills.
Required skills and experience of the Senior Artist Assistant:
Excellent communication skills.
Commercially minded.
Must have a good level of fitness.
Mac literate.
