Production & Development Assistant

I am recruiting for an exciting opportunity, my client is a well-established luxury brand that manufacturers wholly in the UK. They have a new role for a Production & Development Assistant to join their friendly and passionate team. You will be reporting to the Production and Account Managers, working with the sample and production departments to source fabrics and trims for their main collections and facilitate the development of new styles through into production. This is a “hands on” role so the ideal person will need to be proactive, motivated and can do attitude.
The role:
* New fabric and trim sourcing.
* Maintaining fabric “libraries”.
* Raising and maintaining style packs on our IT system.
* Set up & maintain BOM’s on system.
* Implementing and updating the development critical path.
* Raising of all paperwork during the development process and implementation into production.
* Raising and updating cost sheets and wholesale prices.
* Collation of fabrics and trims for all special couture orders.
* Updating marketing & fabric files.
* Photography of new styles for reference in production.
* Assist with the handover of new styles into production.
* Enter new production orders onto the production system.
The Person:
* Knowledge of fabrics and trims used in the manufacture of clothing.
* An understanding of sewing techniques and garment construction would be an advantage
* Ideally experience of “high end” products.
* Ability to communicate skilfully both internally and externally.
* Ability to plan own workload and prioritise objectives.
* Computer skills with Microsoft packages.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
